Dr. Pawan Rattan is a physician, community leader, and entrepreneur. Dr. Rattan graduated from Amritsar Medical College where he joined as a Merit Scholar. Following graduation he was accepted at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGMIR) in Chandigarh India. He left PGI Chandigarh to go to England for his ECFMG Exam in 1974 where he met a young graduate of Royal College of Physician & Surgeons in Dublin Ireland, Dr. Veena Joshi. They married in England in 1975, and moved to the USA. After completing his residency in 1978 Dr. Rattan became a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1980 and a fellow of American College of OB/GYN in 1981. During the next few years he had different faculty appointments both clinical and full time. He was on faculty at George Washington University in Washington D.C. Later he became a fellow and faculty member at USF from 1982-1984. After finishing his fellowship in maternal/fetal medicine Dr. Rattan joined as a full time faculty member at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Rattan has published in leading and prestigious medical journals in his field and has made presentations locally, nationally, and internationally. His three significant international presentations include the International Conference on Diabetes in Pregnancy in London, Ontario, a presentation at the Joint Conference of British and American OB/GYNs in London, England, last but not least a presentation at the Joint Conference of Italian and American OB/GYNs in Rome, Italy.  Dr. Rattan began clinical practice in Tampa in 1986, which at its peak was of one of the largest OB/GYN groups in Tampa. With over thirty years of OB/GYN practice and due to his varied interests he is currently pursuing other areas of medicine, including heading a quality of health care company.
